FFXIV: Zero’s Attire is now available on the Online Store, but her hair is once again separate

There’s no shortage of optional glamour items available to purchase on the FFXIV Online Store. There really is something for everyone, regardless of personal styling preferences, and more items and sets are added all the time.  The latest set to be added to the Online Store on February 13 is a long-awaited addition — Zero’s Attire. Now all players can fully emulate Zero’s gothic look without resorting to grinding out endless runs of The Fell Court of Troia in the hopes of similar enough, but not quite perfect ,gear pieces. Image via Square Enix The set itself is stunning, I’ll admit. It comes with four individual pieces, as opposed to some other NPC glamour sets that require you to wear the whole thing, although the gloves are connected to the chest piece, and the shoes are built-in with the pants, which is less than ideal. On the plus side, it’s fully dyeable with two dye slots, which is one-up on most of the previous NPC outfits when they were initially sold, although dye slots have since been added to a select few.  That sounds great, except that one of Zero’s most recognizable features is conspicuously absent from the main set — her hair is sold separately.  It’s not the first time we’ve seen this happen, but it is a relatively new idea for the FFXIV Online Store to sell hair completely separately as stand-alone items. Just over a month ago, G’raha Tia’s outfit was added to the Online Store for purchase, with his hair coming separately as well. Previous to that, the NPC hairstyles always accompanied the outfit itself.  I’d consider myself pretty deeply entrenched within the FFXIV community, and yet I can’t remember a single time when anybody asked for this. What I can remember is players asking for NPC glamours to come as individual pieces rather than a full-body set, but we were never talking about the hair.  Screenshot by Destructoid Changing your hair and changing your glamour in FFXIV are entirely different features, each of which has its own limitations, particularly the glamour system. You can wear any glamour with any hair, that’s always been the case. What we want is items like Gaia’s frankly stunning heeled boots but without the need to wear the rest of the outfit in its entirety.  Regardless, if you want to get either of the parts of Zero’s complete outfit, you can get them on the FFXIV Online Store now, and you can have both the hair and the outfit for $17. As salty as I sound, they are pretty nice and worth paying for if they fit your aesthetic. If you really want to go all in, you can even buy her Scythe as yet another separate item for $3.  The post FFXIV: Zero’s Attire is now available on the Online Store, but her hair is once again separate appeared first on Destructoid.
