Found this mess under our vinyl floor

Me and my wife just bought our first house, and we had to buy one that wasn't really move in ready be since that was all we could afford. It had a vinyl floor that was missing a few boards and my wife hated it so we pulled it all up and got new vinyl. When we ripped the old flooring out I found this in the kitchen. It's the original wood floor I assume from the 1920s. Is there any way I can fix this enough that I can lay the new vinyl over it without it being a massive bulge? submitted by /u/Basic_Grand6874 [link] [comments]
