The winter schedule is as follows: sleep in January, party in February. While a few art soirées convinced us to brave the single-digit temperatures and do some laps around circular bars, fashion has largely been waiting for Fashion Month to kick it off. From what we can tell, everyone’s ready: The parties are bopping despite New York Fashion Week not officially starting until Feb. 6. The Fall/Winter show weeks are usually quieter than those in September, mostly due to unfavorable weather, but we’re still hitting the town in the name of bringing you gossip from corner booths, pictures from sweaty dance parties, and otherwise excellent fashion off the runway.

Marc Jacobs Brings Madness To Monday Night

Marc Jacobs’ madcap dollhouse show was on Feb. 3, not technically on the schedule but the week’s kickoff nonetheless. After the show, friends of the brand like Delaney Rowe, Dara, and Aquaria shuffled into the first of many parties at The Manner in Soho, the hottest new arrival in World of Hyatt’s ever-growing profile. Memphy and The Frost Children spun enough thumping beats to keep everyone around well into the evening.

LuisaViaRoma Does Good With Choice Works

One of the buzziest openings last NYFW was Italian retailer LuisaViaRoma’s NoHo flagship, and the space is host to many a party during the week. To set sails on another season, they hosted “Choice Works,” a silent auction/cocktail curated by a Simone Rocha-clad Bianca Jebbia alongside Marilyn Minter and Laurie Simmons with all proceeds directly supporting Planned Parenthood of Greater New Year. Participating artists includes Sarah Sze, Chloe Wise, and Joan Jonas, and participating attendees included lots of art-and-fashion-world folks, including a pillbox-hat-wearing Sarah Hoover. The online portion of the auction goes live on Feb. 6 here.

Paloma Elsesser Raises Cash For Los Angeles & Breaks In A New Hotspot

Another Monday night celebration that was packed with the girls, this time in honor of Elsesser’s dreamy Brooklyn townhouse landing on the cover of AD. The purpose of the night was threefold: 1) to raise money for the California wildfire relief efforts in conjunction with CFDA Cares ($4,000 was the evening’s total), 2) to give industry insiders a taste of Cafe Zaffri, the restaurant at soon-to-be-opened members club The Twenty Two, and 3) for Elsesser to stunt in vintage Junya Watanabe sourced by Otherling, a styling platform launching in April.

Black In Fashion Council’s Dinner Party Gives Everyone A Collective Hangover

Every person who was in the room at the tenth bi-annual dinner celebrating everyone Black in fashion — co-hosted by Lindsay Peoples and Sandrine Charles — told me it was the best time. The Hennessy was flowing, A-List Kariss kept the room on their toes with a diverse DJ set, and the vibe was one of community.

Hourglass Celebrates Red 0

The brand’s viral Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm now comes in the scintillating shade of Red 0, the ultimate opaque hue. They found perhaps the best spot in New York to celebrate in The Nines, which is covered in rich red lacquer everywhere you look, the better to complement Apple Martin’s lippie.

Saks (Officially) Kicks Off The Week In Elegance

The seasonal Saks party usually marks the beginning of the week, but it was in fact our fourth and last stop of the night. We did save the best for last, however, with the raw bar, surprise pizza in Saks boxes, and champagne keeping the crowd on their feet well after Caroline Polachek’s early set.

Paris Texas & The Webster Toast To Really Great Boots

Long before Lana Del Rey made it a song title, Paris Texas was a shoe brand name started in 2015 to make luxury, sexy heels and boots. In honor of their pop-up at The Webster in SoHo, they took over The Socialista for a cocktail involving lots of snakeskin knee-highs, excellent music, and mingling before the Fashion Week schedule sinks its teeth into everyone’s lives.

YSL Beauty Provides Gloss, Blush & Kesha

This isn’t quite the Pink Pony Club — it’s the YSL Beauty Candy Club. The brand took over a SoHo townhouse for the evening to celebrate the launch two hero products worth decking the halls over: Beauty Candy Glaze and Make Me Blush. Stars like Gabbriette, Hari Nef, Paloma Elsesser, and Nicole Richie filed in for a surprise performance by Kesha, who shut it down under the club’s neon glow.

Christopher John Rogers Shuts Down Sloane’s

After a formidably intelligent and fun runway show in Brooklyn, Christopher John Rogers and friends (lovingly called Squirrels) crossed the bridge to take over The Manner’s cocktail bar, Sloane’s, where margaritas and cassis martinis were slung, Britney & Janet played aggressively loud, and the community surrounding Rogers enveloped him and his team in love and laughs.

Prada Brings A Book Club To SoHo

Prada’s Spring/Summer 2025 campaign starred Carey Mulligan as a one-woman cast of characters, embodying the all-over-the-place energy of the collection. In honor of her many hats (and car coats), the brand invited Ottessa Moshfegh to write ten short stories inspired by the diverse energies. They aptly celebrated at the Prada flagship along other Prada-ites like Maya Hawke, Diana Silvers, and Charlotte Lawrence.
