Blizzard has unveiled the full roadmap for Hearthstone Esports 2025, introducing a more open competitive circuit.

The season will feature two Masters Tour Championships and the World Championship, with teams having three opportunities to qualify for the final event of the year.

These include the Spring and Summer Championships, along with a Last Chance Qualifier. To enter the Hearthstone esports system, players need to earn Competitive Points by reaching the top 100 on the leaderboard during any of the Qualification Period months.

Apart from this, three open qualifiers will also take place during each Qualification Period month, with the top four players from each region advancing to the Masters Tour Playoffs. The winner and runner-up of the Playoffs will secure a spot in the Masters Tour Championship.

“Our focus this year is to open up new paths for more players to participate in these premier events. We want to invest in the competitive Hearthstone community, so our improvements this year are primarily designed to make the system wider instead of taller,” Blizzard stated about the format changes made this year.

The Masters Tour Championship will put 16 players against each other—six from the Masters Tour Playoffs and ten based on Competitive Points. The top four players from each Masters Tour Championship will advance to the World Championship, while the remaining competitors will have a final shot at it through the LCQ.

Unlike other tournaments, the LCQ will be a global event and its winner will claim the final spot at the World Championship.

At the end of the year, all 16 finalists will battle it out for the Hearthstone World Champion title and a $500,000 (~£397,055) prize pool. Fans will be able to catch all the action live on Hearthstone’s official Twitch and YouTube channels.
