Help! My ceiling smells like cat pee after painting with old paint – what do I do?!
Like the title says, I was being a bit of a tight bag and used an old tin of white paint to give the spare room ceiling a quick refresh (ha!). Big mistake. Now the whole room stinks of cat pee! A bit of Googling tells me the paint was likely too old, was off and had gone mouldy – which means I’ve basically sealed a layer of mould into my ceiling. Brilliant. It’s been three weeks and the smell is still awful. No amount of candles, incense, fancy oils or bloody cut onions make a difference and opening the window makes it smell even worse. What’s the best way to fix this? Can I scrub it with bleach, or will that just make things worse? What kind of product should I use to seal it properly and get rid of the smell for good? I’ve never dealt with anything like this before and I’m desperate....I just need that awful stench gone! Help me please
