[HELP] Old wax spill ruined my bathroom drawer—how can I fix or cover this up?
A couple years ago, I spilled wax in my cardboard bathroom drawer—the kind with a thin painted/coated finish. I’ve tried everything to clean it: rubbing alcohol, oils, conditioner, nail polish remover… all it did was strip the paint and expose the raw cardboard underneath. Scraping just made it worse. It’s been sitting like that for years, and now I’m moving out in a week. I really don’t want to leave it like this. The drawer looks awful and sticky, and I’m totally out of ideas. Any DIY tips to either remove the residue safely, repair the damage, or cover it up in a way that won’t look completely janky? I’m open to quick fixes, creative cover-ups, or anything that’ll make this drawer look presentable again. Thanks in advance—I need all the help I can get! submitted by /u/glutenismynemesis [link] [comments]
