HIGH and ÖUS Unveil Y2K-Inspired Collab
Brazilian streetwear labels HIGH and ÖUS have teamed up to launch a collaborative collection, "Alien," channeling the futuristic yet raw aesthetic of the early 2000s. The line, featuring a brand-new sneaker model and a range of apparel and accessories, draws inspiration from the era's subcultures, including skate, punk, and clubwear, all while infusing a unique alien-themed narrative."We are reliving the early 2000s through the point of view of those who lived one day at a time, without worries, and spent their days watching inspirations and doing what they like most," says ÖUS founder Bruno Narciso. The "Alien" sneaker, available in "Neptune" and "Mars" colorways, boasts a chunky silhouette reminiscent of Y2K footwear, crafted from premium metal-free leather, suede, and recycled polyester ripstop. The collection extends beyond footwear, encompassing baggy pants, graphic tees, caps, and skate accessories, all adorned with alien-inspired graphics and graffiti-style prints. A celebratory launch event is scheduled for March 22nd in São Paulo, featuring a skate competition and live performances.HIGH and ÖUS's collaboration is rooted in a longstanding friendship and shared passion for skate culture. "Despite being born in Vitória, High's first office was in Curitiba, at the home of one of the founders of ÖUS, in 2014. Realizing the collab is the materialization of years of friendship and exchange of learning in both fashion and skateboarding," explains HIGH founder Diogo. The "Alien" collection is available online starting and in-store at select retailers in Brazil.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
