Tournament organiser BLAST has announced that its November 2025 BLAST Premier Rivals event is heading to Hong Kong.

The event will see eight teams — four from VRS and four regional wildcards — compete for a share of a $350,000 (~£259,437) prize pool at the AsiaWorld-Arena.

Set to take place from November 12th to 16th, 2025, it is the first esports event to receive the notable ‘M’ mark status from Hong Kong’s government.

M mark statuses are issued by Hong Kong’s Major Events Committee to sporting events that ‘significantly enhance’ Hong Kong’s international image as a premier destination for sports and entertainment. Other events awarded the accolade include the Hong Kong Tennis Open and LIV Golf Hong Kong.

“We are incredibly proud to bring the BLAST Premier Rivals to Hong Kong and make history in the process, as the first esports event to receive ‘M’ Mark recognition,” said James Woolard, Director of Market Development at BLAST.

“This event will combine world-class competition, state-of-the-art production, and a uniquely local cultural experience to create an unforgettable moment for fans in Hong Kong, Asia, and around the globe.”

BLAST Premier Rivals’ Hong Kong event forms part of BLAST’s revamped Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) circuit. BLAST Rivals Spring 2025 recorded over 1m peak viewers, making it the most popular event operated by the Danish tournament organiser that’s not a Major.

Hong Kong becomes the latest location to host a Rivals event in 2025. The Spring edition of the tournament took place at the BLAST Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark, after being moved from its original location of Monterrey, Mexico.

In May, the tournament organiser announced Season 1 of Rivals will head to North America in 2026, cementing BLAST as one of the largest Counter-Strike event operators in the world.
