How feasible is a smart plant watering system?
Hey! So I know this isn't a brand new idea, and I've seen some of the posts from a few years back but I'm looking for some opinions on what I'd like to build. This is both a cry for help because I hate watering plants, and a good option for my final license project in uni. It goes like this, simplified: Have a part hardware, part software build. So far I've settled on an ESP32 for my main piece, with a few soil moisture sensors, one temperature and humidty sensor for the area, and a light sensor. This would all be connected via WiFi to a web application that reads the sensors, and using machine learning which gets fed these reading, weather forecast and specific plant type information, the system should automatically water your plants whenever it's best for them. This is way more complex than it sounds, but I think it'd be possible for a longterm project, I know the software part isn't really fitting for this sub but I figured here I'll get the best feedback. submitted by /u/Styled_ [link] [comments]
