Middle Eastern esports company YaLLa Esports has announced it has moved the finals of its YaLLa Compas Qatar 2025 event online after planning to hold the event with a LAN format.
According to the company, the decision to move the Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) event to an online format instead was due to ‘unexpected scheduling constraints.’
In a press release, the tournament organiser made ‘extensive efforts’ to maintain the original plan of the finals taking place on LAN.
The second quarter of 2025 features several tournaments taking place in close proximity, making it difficult for teams and tournament organisers to execute offline events without the chance of conflict taking place.
“Our first priority is always the integrity of the competition and the experience for players and fans,” said Klaus Kajetski, Founder of YaLLa Esports. “We’ve put months of planning and hard work into delivering a standout event, and while the format is changing, our commitment to excellence remains unchanged.”
The event will continue to take place between April 16th to 19th with 12 teams competing for $600,000 (~£467,586) in prize money.
