How to complete the Thrown to the Dogs quest in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
Thrown to the Dogs is a bonus quest that all Assassin's Creed Shadows players can go on if they pre-order the game. However, the quest isn't available right from the start of your playthrough. How to start Thrown to the Dogs in Assassin's Creed Shadows At the beginning of Assassin's Creed Shadows, you'll receive a message on your screen that confirms your playthrough has unlocked bonus content. In most cases, this means you have access to the Thrown to the Dogs quest. This message also states that you have to progress the game before you're able to complete it, though. Exactly how far you have to progress is not mentioned. The message explaining that the Thrown to the Dogs quest has been added to the game. All you have to do is continue with the narrative events that play out and as soon as the world opens up to you, the quest will be marked on your world map. Specifically, you'll have to establish your first Hideout, which opens up the world and allows you to travel wherever you want. When this happens, you can head to an area of forest between the Osaka Castle and Tennoji Temple locations on the map. How to complete Thrown to the Dog in Assassin's Creed Shadows As you can see in the map screenshot above, the exact location of the dog is at the end of a winding road that comes out of the northwestern side of Tennoji Temple. You're initially given a quest zone where you need to search for the dog, but it's found at the top of a small cliff where its owner's grave is located. When you first approach the dog, it will growl but Naoe manages to calm it down and you manage to understand what it's doing at the grave. The dog is bloodied and was apparently in a fight that had something to do with its owner's death, so Naoe can follow the dog until it reaches the destination where the fight occurred. After the cutscene with the dog is over, just hold the "follow" button that appears and Naoe will keep up with the dog automatically. Following the dog to the site of its attack. Screenshot by Destructoid Along the way, you'll run into some enemies you have to fight, but nothing major. Eventually, the dog leads you to an estate where a woman named Takako is waiting. She exclaims that Ichiro's dog has returned and this turns into a cutscene with her. Takako is Ichiro's brother-in-law and seemingly stole the estate she's currently on from him, which Ichiro inherited from his late parents. Of course, the dog didn't take too kindly to this and Takako responded with violence of her own. At some point during the conversation, you have to make a choice between killing Takako for hurting the dog or warning her against doing it again. If you choose the "kill" option, you make quick work of Takako. However, warning her makes Takako run off, never to be seen again. You'll find the key is underneath a house on the eastern side of the estate. When you arrive after following a quest marker, you'll see the dog lying next to the box. You can open the box and a cutscene reveals a letter written by Ichiro inside the box. The letter states that the dog now trusts you and was Ichiro's only friend in the world. The dog leads you to Ichiro's final request.
