How to turn on Arachnophobia Assistance in Monster Hunter Wilds

Arachnophobia isn't something to mess around with, and while Monster Hunter Wilds doesn't have too many arachnid-like enemies and monsters, there are few of them roaming the Forbidden Lands. Fortunately, the game offers an Arachnophobia Assistance option in the settings to make sure you don't see any arachnids on your screen. Enabling Arachnophobia Assistance in Monster Hunter Wilds The process to enable this setting is extremely simple. However, you can actually turn it on by default when you start a new save file in Monster Hunter Wilds. The game goes through all of its accessibility settings before you can create a new character, and Arachnophobia Assistance is one of those settings. This is somewhat easy to miss, though, so follow the steps below to turn on the setting: Launch Monster Hunter Wilds and go to the main menu While still in the main menu, click on the "Options" tab from the drop-down menu on the left side of the screen In Options, go to the "Accessibility" section (second from last on the top row) and look for the Arachnophobia Assistance option towards the start of the available settings Click on Arachnophobia Assistance and turn it from "Off" to "On" It should be noted that you can't enable or disable Arachnophobia Assistance once you enter a game of Monster Hunter Wilds. However, if you're fighting a large monster, you can still tell what they are even if they are clouded by some shapes. For smaller enemies, the Arachnophobia Assistance setting works great and you're given no indication as to what they really are. When you enable the setting, you're only changing the appearance of these specific monsters that the developers have deemed as the most "arachnid-like." Turning on the setting does nothing in terms of altering the enemy's damage, health, or other elements. How to increase the effectiveness of Arachnophobia Assistance in Monster Hunter Wilds If you turn on Arachnophobia Assistance and find that it's not doing the job in the way you had hoped, there is another step you can take. One member of the community, TeaSharkLad, has created a mod that completely covers the more spider-like enemies and turns them into a faceless slime that features zero arachnid elements whatsoever. This mod is called "Temnophobia Mode" and it's available to download on NexusMods. The mod creator states the larger Temnocerans, Nerscylla, and Lala Barina enemies are the most affected by the mod.
