I messed up my hinges.
We have a home built in 1938. I’ve been stripping and refinishing our doors, that part has been a flying success. In my attempt to remove 80 years of paint, I used citrus strip on the hinges. The result was some pretty major discoloration. Is there anyway to get the brass look back? I’ve tried a lot of elbow grease and Barkeepers friend. I fear the stripper may have chemically removed the color. Any yes, I’ve since bought a cheap crock pot for the remainder of the hinges. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! submitted by /u/mandelbrots [link] [comments]
