Installing Snap-Lock Vinyl Flooring Question

My house currently has a mix of carpet and ceramic tile. We are currently getting the tile tested for asbestos since the place was built in 74' and we're pretty sure this is original tile. IF the tile does come back positive, we are considering just installing snap-lock vinyl wood planks over it. The one issue i've thought about with this is that there will be a significant height difference between the subfloor (where the carpet used to be), and where the tile will be. What is the solution to this? Should i just throw down an appropriate thickness of subfloor on top of the pre-existing subfloor to make everything flush? Are there any alternate solutions someone with much more experience than me would give? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/The_Orphan9 [link] [comments]
