Is my floating bed idea reasonable?

I am looking into ways to build my son a floating loft bed with potentially a desk underneath. I've been googling and looking at examples online. While I'm fairly confident I can build this safely I want to double check so that if him and his friends are jumping around on it and or hanging from underneath it won't collapse. I essentially need to ensure it will hold two full size adults and I'm unsure of how to determine maximum load. So I'm hoping there may be people here with experience that can confirm if my plan is acceptable or if it would need additional support. The current plan is for the bed to be twin size and go in the corner of his room. My thought has been to use 2x6's as a frame bolted (using large lag screws) to the 2x4 wall studs on two walls in one corner while resting on a 2x2 or 4x4 post under the outside corner where wall mounting is not an option. The outside 2x6's supported by the post would be notched with the 2x6's bolted to the wall so they rest on top in addition to being held together with construction screws. I would then use 2x4's to act as mattress slats using either joist hangers or perhaps even notching the 2x6s with my router and screwed in. If anyone has suggestions to improve the plan or thinks my current plan is sound please let me know. If needed I can create a basic drawing and resubmit my question. submitted by /u/Baron164 [link] [comments]
