Here is everything you need to know about the upcoming season’s dramatic happenings.

What Will Season 4 Be About?

Netflix announced on social media that Season 4 of the successful series will spotlight Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson, and his love story with Sophie Baek, played by Yerin Ha. The video, which featured Thompson getting ready, was captioned: “It has been brought to this author’s attention that perhaps it is time to unmask the newest suitor of the marriage mart… Benedict Bridgerton’s story is coming next season.”

In Season 3, fans saw the benevolent Bridgerton brother explore his sexuality in a relationship with Lady Tilley Arnold and her friend Paul Suarez. In the end, he expressed enthusiasm for his mother’s imminent masquerade ball and eagerness for plenty more rich life experiences. “Benedict has always been a little lost–or free, depending on the way you want to look at it,” Thompson told Tadum. “But now he’s trying to find something a bit more solid in himself.”

Netflix confirmed that Season 4 will present the content of events of Julia Quinn’s third Bridgerton novel, An Offer From a Gentleman, which tells a Cinderella-inspired story of destitute housemaid Sophie Beckett and Benedict after an enchanting meeting at London high-society’s lavish ball. “Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down—until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

Who Else Will Star In It?

There is no need to pull out a handkerchief because most of the cast from Season 3 is set to return. Season 3 headliners Nicola Coughlan (Penelope Bridgerton) and Luke Newton (Colin Bridgerton) confirmed their returns. Fan favorites such as Claudia Jessie (Eloise Bridgerton) and Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte) are also expected to appear on our screens again. Other notable rumored returning characters include Ruth Gemmell (Violet Bridgerton), Florence Hunt (Hyacinth Bridgerton), Hannah Dodd (Francesca Bridgerton), Will Tilston (Gregory Bridgerton), Jessica Madsen (Cressida Cowper), Hugh Sachs (Brimsley), and Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury).

When Will It Air?

Unfortunately, viewers will have to wait a while to watch another heart-stopping dance scene set to a pop-string cover. While an official date has not been confirmed, showrunner Jess Brownell told The Hollywood Reporter that Season 4 likely will not grace our screens until 2026. “We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language,” she said. “And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we’re kind of on a two-year pace, we’re trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range.” However, Brownell maintained that Season 4 contains her “best work,” and she is elated for fans to see it come to life.
