Is this wall hopeless?

Previous owner used nasa grade glue to put these soundfoam on the wall Days of elbow crease to scrap this stuff off and it was also damaging the wall. All the foam is off but the wall is still 90% covered entirely of glue. Scraped off 90% of the glue thats there but it’s still sticky to touch with residue of the glue and goo gon combined. LOTS AND LOTS of goo gone was used with scraper. Ive tried to sand the areas thats relatively ok and it’s creating some sort of glue residue. Do i keep sanding or bite the bullet and hire a contractor to redo the wall?? Im guessing they’ll skim coat it or replace the drywall. Really though this was going to simpler than what’s happening now. Out of my wits here and making me feel bad about my decision for this place. submitted by /u/Hunthoho [link] [comments]
