Jackson Hole’s iconic Aman resort is getting a facelift — and closing until the 2026 season

If you want to visit one of the most celebrity-adored resorts in the United States, you’d better make plans to head to Wyoming before April: Amangani is closing its doors until next year to undergo a comprehensive renovation that will usher in a new era.

First opening 26 years ago in Jackson Hole, Amangani is considered one of the most luxe and desirable year-round resorts in the country, but is especially a hit for skiers thanks to its picture-perfect location at the foot of the Tetons. Or, if regular skiing isn’t enough, it’s the kind of place that can organize heli-skiing in the swish of the wrist.

But on April 7, 2025, the Amangani of today will close its doors for the last time to undergo a transformative rebirth that, while undisclosed, while surely cost a pretty penny.

The renovations will include full makeovers of every guest room and suite that includes upgraded soaking tubs, fireplaces and new seating and other touches we’ll have to wait until next year to see. The spa will see new treatment rooms added and new wellness and active zones will be updated to connect the indoors and outdoors. The resort’s restaurants and bars will also be redesigned and expanded, though it’s unclear if the concepts will change.

Originally opened in 1998 in beautiful structures made of redwood and sandstone to reflect the “pioneering spirit of the Old West,” the remodeled hotel will continue to honor that design by architect Ed Tuttle, but with a fresh aestethtic. New design elements the resort touted include indoor and outdoor fireplaces, lofted ceilings and incorporating more natural materials that help guests feel at one with the natural beauty surrounding the resort.

Amangani is one of three currently open resorts and hotels in the United States from Aman, one of the world’s leading ultra-luxury hospitality brands. Amangani’s sister resort, Amangiri in the Utah desert, is a favorite of A-list celebrities like the Kardashians, while the New York iteration is a “vertical spa resort” that’s often the most expensive hotel in town. New city hotels in Miami and Beverly Hills are in Aman’s pipeline.

Though Amangani is only open for a few more months before starting its renovations, it’s not too late to visit — if you have deep pockets; rooms are available from $2,285 per night.
