Jennie Makes Her Mark in a Chanel Tuxedo at the 2025 Met Gala

The 2025 Met Gala was always going to be a year like no other, especially thanks to its menswear focus (unique, alone, given the history of the event) and focus on Black dandyism. On the carpet, celebrities did their best to match the tailoring-centered dress code. When Blackpink's Jennie arrived in a full Chanel outfit, complete with a hat, she shut things down.

The longtime Chanel muse embraced the theme of the night, "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," a celebration of Black dandyism and fashion through the years. Jennie rocked an overcoat and cigarette suit pants, flared with an exaggerated silhouette, with her jumpsuit look, that made for an androgynous flair. Attached pearls at the bodice and necklace (accompanied by quintessentially Chanel buttons, also featured on the cuffs) topped off the look. 

Jennie is no stranger to the Met Gala. She made her debut in those iconic museum steps wearing vintage Chanel in 2023, and returned in 2024 wearing a deep blue Alaïa minidress. However, her look tonight might be her best one yet.

The Blackpink member, who has been global ambassador of the French fashion house since 2017, has had a busy spring. She made her Coachella debut last month after releasing her debut solo album Ruby early March 2025. Her fellow Blackpink stars have also been making headlines. Lisa, also attending the gala tonight, performed at Coachella after a whirlwind press tour for HBO's TV series The White Lotus and her own album release. Even with each member’s breakout success, it seems it won’t be long until the band gets back together. YG Entertainment announced last September that Blackpink will embark on an international tour this summer. Until then, we’ll be staring in awe of Jennie’s fashion ascension.
