Using ChatGPT to analyze years of Lightroom data

As with all things, there are pros and cons to using artificial intelligence (AI) in photography. The technology has been under fire in the recent years for understandable and now widely discussed reasons, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make good use of it. Travel photographer Sean Dalton shares a great example in the video above, putting ChatGPT to work doing what it does best: crunching numbers and analyzing data. With a Lightroom catalog that spans 10 years of photos, metadata, and other important information, Dalton thought about using ChatGPT to find certain themes in how he has been taking photos. Exporting all that Lightroom data, he ran a statistical analysis and got some interesting trends. It’s an interesting way to look at your photography through the years, with a data-driven approach to tracking your progress and understanding your journey better. Make sure you watch until the end, as Dalton also shares how he did this, so you too can can try it out! And if you do, let us know what crunching the numbers revealed about you as a photographer so far!
