Khaite Brings Leopard Print and Leather Chic to the Fall/Winter 2025 Runway

In recent years, luxury label Khaite has become a defining force in capturing the essence of effortless cool, and the Fall/Winter 2025 collection takes that signature style to new heights. With this latest showing, Creative Director Catherine Holstein not only reinforces the brand’s identity of the sophisticated cool girl, but also firmly cements the brand at the forefront of New York Fashion Week.
Chic avant-garde looks ruled the runway, with structured asymmetrical blazers, exaggerated shoulders, and deconstructed knits. These, although beautiful, are staples in Khaite's identity. What was a pleasant surprise, however, was the introduction of British equestrian-esque pieces including thigh-high riding boots and newsboy caps, while bold leopard print injected an unexpected boldness that added more heat to the collection.
Holstein masterfully balanced Khaite’s core identity with fresh, unexpected elements that kept the collection exciting without straying from the brand’s DNA. The sleek leather and fur coats injected a sense of drama and opulence, while still aligning with Khaite’s refined aesthetic. Paired with elongated, opera-length leather gloves, these pieces added a romantic, almost sensual edge to the collection, offering a new dimension to the brand’s traditionally cool, understated vibe.
This sensuality extended beyond the garments themselves and into the atmosphere of the show. The dimly lit venue, anchored by a glowing orange circular runway, created an intimate, moody backdrop that perfectly complemented the collection’s energy. The lighting cast soft shadows across the textured fabrics, highlighting the intricate craftsmanship while enveloping the audience in an immersive experience. Holstein’s ability to seamlessly weave these atmospheric elements with the clothing underscored her vision: a brand that continues to evolve while staying rooted in its effortlessly cool, intellectual spirit.
