Moving light switch -- overlap with trim or move inside cabinet
I am redoing my son's reach-in closet into a wardrobe, similar to another one we did (first photo here: photo), however in my son's room, to the side of the wardrobe, I will only have about 4 inches left to the wall, and need to deal with fitting in both trim and a light switch (which is moved from a few inches over). As far as I can tell, my options are: - overlap light switch and trim, which i assume doesn't look great but maybe I can make it nice somehow? (second photo here: photo) - move light switch inside cabinet (which is awkward). The light switch will control the lights in the cabinet, but I'm happy to also just make this into a junction box and install new lighting that has other low-volt switches. The light switch is not the end of the circuit, and the romex to/from it go through floor/ceiling, so it's non-trivial to rewire the switch to another place in the room, so I think the two options above are my only two DIY options? Any other ideas? Thanks! submitted by /u/buyingacarTA [link] [comments]
