Need a hack to tell me when my dryer stops

My electric clothes dryer is in the basement and my apartment is on the third floor. Said dryer has a tendency to SOMETIMES shut off anywhere between 15-40 minutes into a 60-minute timed drying cycle, always before clothes are dry. I’ve already had a repairman look at it (he couldn’t duplicate the issue and his “fix” didn’t work). I was thinking I could rig something up on it that would jiggle while the dryer is running and then when it stops, somehow alert me with an app on my iPhone or something along those lines. I’m stuck as to how to go about it though, so I’m hoping some creative engineering types in here might have some ideas to help! submitted by /u/Ysoserious111 [link] [comments]
