Need help with deadbolt
I got a Baldwin door lever and deadbolt, and installed it on my patio door. Product linked below: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Baldwin-Prestige-Spyglass-Matte-Black-Single-Cylinder-Door-Handleset-with-Square-Spyglass-Door-Handle-Feat-SmartKey-Security-180SPHXSPL514/312677705 My problem is that the deadbolt doesn't extend all the way. In order for the deadbolt to fully engage, it's like a 2 inch throw. But the hole to receive the bolt is only about 3/4" deep. Most of the recommendations I see for this is to just drill the hole deeper and call it a day. But in my case, I have a pair of French doors, and the latch securing to the second door. And I'm a bit apprehensive about just drilling out my door. What are my options here? submitted by /u/Waiting_in_a_Eye_Que [link] [comments]
