Need new window
We have a very old casement style window in our second floor, ripped out the trim and removed insulation and found I have a 30x48 rough opening. I’d like to replace it myself. I consider myself to be handy but I’ve never ever had anything to do with a window. From the research I’ve done I see that you can get replacement or pocket windows but only if your frame is solid? My window is made out of wood and rotted out at the bottom. But I see it has a metal frame around it. Do I need to rip it out, cut around the siding to accommodate a new window with a nailing fin and install new outside window casing trim? submitted by /u/UnhappyScallion6378 [link] [comments]
