Leslie Benzies, the former lead game designer on Rockstar games like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is getting ready to release his next game, MindsEye which got a new look in the PlayStation State of Play.
In a new trailer for MindsEye, we got a look at this high-tech spy thriller that has more than a few passing similarities to Grand Theft Auto. There's third-person gunplay, high-end cinematics, and drive and gun shooting. You can check it out in the cinematic trailer below.
According to an official press release, MindsEye follows Jacob Diaz who is equipped with a neural implant called the MindsEye. However, this implant has affected his memory, giving him disjointed flashbacks of his time in the army. He then undergoes a mission to discover the truth about his past and crosses path with the AI-powered military that is looking to stand in his way.
We've known about MindsEye for a few years now. After leaving Rockstar Games, Benzies founded his new studio Build a Rocket Boy and partnered up with Hitman developer IO Interactive on MindsEye. Billed a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye will also launch soemthing called the Everywhere platform, something we described as "Big budget Roblox" after a visit to their studio in 2024.
The new trailer didn't mention Everywhere, but Mindseye, at least, looks to be an exciting new action game from one of the biggest names in the genre. MindsEye is set to release sometime in the summer of 2025.
