Old Andersen gliding windows

I have 6 1966 vintage Andersen "gliding windows" which stopped being made in 1971, the windows are in good shape except they lack suitable R value. one important component of the original sash and frame assembly was to allow for about a 1/8" inch removable double glazing panel to be screwed on to the frame.compared to new windows an affordable solution would be to make a new unit with 2025 insulated glass tech that is very thin and put in a new frame.Has anyone tried this? submitted by /u/FitGuest2957 [link] [comments]
