Overwatch 2’s latest patch brings balance changes including a Mauga nerf, Roadhog buff
A new hero balance patch went live in Overwatch 2 last night, bringing some much-needed changes to shake up the meta. It includes some nerfs and some buffs, but overall, Blizzard is hoping that the patch will smooth things out for the final few weeks of season 15 before new Damage hero Freja and more come to the game in season 16, launching on April 22. Here's every hero change that is now live in OW2. Overwatch patch notes today: March 25 Image via Blizzard Entertainment Tank Mauga Cardiac Overdrive No longer provides allies with damage reduction. Cage Fight Ultimate cost increased eight percent. Barrier health reduced from 1500 to 1200 HP. Berserker Passive Overhealth conversion rate reduced from 50 percent to 40 percent. This is a massive nerf for Mauga, who has been wreaking havoc of late in the meta. The biggest change is to Cardiac Overdrive, which is the aggressive tank's best method of protecting his team. Roadhog Take a Breather Maximum healing increased from 400 to 450. Whole Hog Ultimate cost reduced 12 percent. Roadhog has been up and down in the meta for several years now, but these two changes could bring him in line with the other frontline heroes in OW2. Winston Primal Rage Ultimate cost increased 10 percent. A little less rage for the big monkey. Zarya Energy Degeneration rate increased from 2 to 2.5 per second. Zarya's been a dominant tank in OW2 for as long as most players can remember. This minor change to how fast her attack power will dissipate may not amount to much on paper, but it's something. Damage Image via Blizzard Entertainment Cassidy Peacekeeper Primary fire falloff range increased from 20 to 25 meters. Secondary fire damage increased from 45 to 50. A sweet buff for OW2's resident cowboy and hitscan DPS dealer, who can now deal more damage at range and up-close. Echo Base health reduced from 225 to 150. Shield health increased from 0 to 75. This is a really solid buff for Echo, who will now be able to dip out of sight and generate a good chunk of their health back on their own. Soldier: 76 Heavy Pulse rifle Primary fire now uses the larger projectile size (0.07 meters). A slight buff for Jack Morrison will now see his bullets grow a bit. Sojourn Power Slide Cooldown increased from 7 to 8 seconds. Maximum duration reduced from 1.2 to 1 second. Sojourn's movement and maneuverability has been slightly nerfed here, meaning you will have to pick your battles a bit better. Widowmaker Base health increased from 200 to 225 HP. This is a real slight buff for Widow's HP, meaning she should be able to survive a shot or two more than usual, depending on who's firing, but not if it's another Widowmaker. A mirror match will still result in a one-shot headshot kill. Support Image via Blizzard Entertainment Ana Biotic Grenade Cooldown increased from 12 to 14 seconds for non-6v6 games modes. Cooldown increased from 10 to 12 seconds for 6v6 games modes. Shrike Self-Nano Boost duration reduced from 8 to 6 seconds. Ana's Biotic Grenade has been terrorizing Overwatch since a few months after the game initially launched back in 2016, and it continues to do so until this day. This change should have it emptying the battlefield a bit less now. Juno Orbital Ray Ultimate cost increased 10 percent. "LOCKING SATELLITE VECTOR!" should now be heard a smidgen less.
