Paint is peeling off in large pieces.
I’m attempting to paint this room for a new baby and while removing the old closet door track, some paint chipped off the edge of the walls. Upon trying to break off the bits of paint standing up around the chipped areas, the entire wall started peeling in large pieces with almost no resistance. The peeled paint is semi-pliable, and there are no signs of water damage to the wall. The house was built in 1977 and there are definitely multiple layers of paint peeling off down to what appears to be the wall texture coating. Total thickness is that of light card stock.
