See Louis Vuitton's Magical Cruise 2026 Show and Epic Celebrity Front Row
In the majestic setting of the Palais des Papes, Nicolas Ghesquière has created a fashion show where past and future intertwine.

In the year 2000, when the twenty-first century was still in its infancy, Nicolas Ghesquière set foot in the sun-drenched city of Avignon, drawn by the mysticism of the Palais des Papes and an art exhibition celebrating the passage of the new millennium. This monument, an immense stone vessel that once housed the spiritual heart of the West, imposed itself on him not only for its Gothic grandeur, but also for the promise of a timeless dialogue between past and future. And a short 25 years later, the artistic director of Louis Vuitton returned, no longer as a spectator, but as a visionary creator, placing his offering at the foot of the walls.
The Louis Vuitton 2026 Cruise collection was a spectacular offering. Beneath the centuries-old vaults, Ghesquière's show became a modern rite, an exalted fusion of illuminated manuscripts and Arthurian mythologies, glam rock icons and liturgical embroidery. Each silhouette on the runway told an epic story, where leather, mesh, sequins and chains sculpt an armor that is both earthly and ethereal.
Practically, this looked like a wide range of looks, each tinged with something modern yet medieval. This spirit came alive in everything from the bejeweled footwear on the runway to the sheer fabric on dresses and asymmetric cutouts.
The front row was, undoubtedly, as epic as the collection. Standouts included Stray Kids' Felix, who arrived with his signature bleach blonde mullet, Jaden Smith (in a trapper hat), Ava DuVernay, Quenlin Blackwell, and more.
Ghesquière made alchemy of the present and of old worlds—merging, what felt like, everything from its pop heroes, its video game legends, its crowds in search of myth—and distilled them into clothes where reality is adorned with a sacred aura for Cruise 2026. In Avignon, the runway experience was not just about fashion, but a dramaturgy of the imagination, where each look is an incantation.
