Painting or staining time frame for pressure treated wood?
Ive just built an entry archway out of 4x4 x 10 ft square posts, since its outside these 4x4s are all pressure treated wood. My question is how long should I wait before i'm able to paint or stain them. Is there a difference for paint vs stain? Ive always thought that it should be at least a year to allow the pressure treating to vent out, but I've found multiple conflicting answers by googling. I wanted to find out what the consensus is. I'd like to do it as soon as possible for esthetic reasons but also do not want to ruin anything by jumping the gun. Thank you! submitted by /u/5WattBulb [link] [comments]
