Parfums de Marly Debuts Seductive Masculine Scent With Spicy Notes

Parfums de Marly may be best-known for its more feminine fragrances like Valaya or Delina, but now the French perfume brand is making a new pitch for the masculine. Thursday morning, it revealed Castley, a scent distinguished by its spiciness, packaged in a silver bottle, and perfect for summer.

Broadly, the scent has a fresh feeling to it (before it dries down to something more subtly seductive). This is thanks to its top notes of bergamot, fresh ginger, and black pepper, which make for a powerful trifecta. Its heart notes are more citrus, while the base notes are more woody. Castley is available to shop in two bottle sizes: a 75-millilter bottle that retails for $270 and a 125-milliliter available for $370.

"Thanks to bright citrus notes contrasted by the richness of spice and the nobility of woody-amber accords, this new composition offers a surprising impression of movement as well as balance," Julien Sprecher, founder and artistic director of the brand, said in a press release. Castley is now shoppable from Parfums de Marly and at select boutiques in New York City and Los Angeles. Starting May 26, it'll be available at select retailers.

As may be evident based on the equestrian logo, Parfums de Marly was named after a horse, and many of the label's scents are named after winning race horses. Castley, however, diverges. It is instead inspired by French explorers of the eighteenth-century and the "spice treasure" era where items like ginger and cinnamon guided upscale French perfumery

Yvan Jacqueline, President of the Americas of Parfums de Marly, also helms Initio Parfums Privés, which launched its Power Self fragrance in March 2025.
