renovating basement - where to move light switch at bottom of stairs
TLDR: we knocked out the wall at the bottom of our steps where a switch was, and now not sure where to relocate the switch to. ---- As you walk down our basement stairs there was a light switch at the bottom, on the right. There was also, until recently a wall and a door - they are now not there. We'll have matching railing on both sides. This switch controls lights in "Zone 1" (to the left) and "Zone 2" (to the right)-- Zone2 has a 3-way switch at the top of the stairs. Rough layout: https://imgur.com/a/E2JGx2v Basement Stairs photo: https://imgur.com/a/HFWZ4Pt (The switch is still connected/dangling in its original location.) So, where do we move it to? Option 1 - right in front of you as you walk down the stairs. In the middle of the wall. Option 2 - Make a U-TURN left into the room and walk a few steps back past the cutout. Option 3 - halfway down the stairs on the right (or left, whatever). Thanks! submitted by /u/jaaassshhh [link] [comments]
