Replacing Lean-to Patio Cover - what size posts?

Potential Plans I currently have a 10x20 concrete patio with a poorly constructed lean-to covering over it. I plan on replacing it myself this summer. The above picture is a design I am considering. However, the plans call for 6x6 posts (red) and 6x8 top support beams (blue). I know that "overengineered is an opinion, and underengineered is a fact" ... but I feel like reducing the posts to 4x6 (red) and adding a post (so 4 posts instead of 3) and using 4x6 top support beams is still plenty of support. Thoughts? submitted by /u/AKrowdie1876 [link] [comments]
