Sabrina Carpenter Surprise Announces a New Album: 'Man's Best Friend'
Surprise! "Man Child" was only the beginning. A new Sabrina Carpenter is coming our way in August.

Sabrina Carpenter just dropped a bombshell on Instagram—and no, it’s not another cheeky single (though we wouldn’t be mad about that, either). The singer announced that her brand new album, Man’s Best Friend, will be released on August 29, 2025—less than a year after her smash-hit Short n’ Sweet dropped last August.
If her surprise single “Man Child,” released on June 5, was any indication, we’re in for another unapologetic, possibly breakup-fueled ride. In her post, Carpenter wrote, “I can’t wait for it to be yours x,” revealing that the album is already available for pre-order—cue the chaos in the comments section.
But it’s not just the music fans are freaking out about. The cover art is already making waves online, featuring Carpenter on her knees next to a man pulling her hair, serving up her signature attitude, beauty, and major pop girl energy.
While Short n’ Sweet had its romantic highs and glittery sounds, Man’s Best Friend is already shaping up to be a little darker, a little sharper—and, dare we say, more fun. Is it a full-on breakup album? We’re not sure yet, but I'm definitely hoping for more biting lyrics in classic Sabrina storytelling. One thing’s clear: Sabrina Carpenter isn't sleeping, and neither will I until this album comes out.
When she dropped “Man Child," many fans suspected jabs at her ex Barry Keoghan. The two reportedly decided to take a break in December 2024 after almost a year of dating. Shortly after that news broke, Carpenter stepped outside in a revenge outfit of her own. Nothing has slowed her down since.
