Salvage made wood kiln. Will this work?
I process a good amount of my own lumber for my hobby. Currently I am sitting on 40 half logs, four foot long of white pine. I want to make some half log outdoor furniture in July to sell. Need to be able to cook the wood to clear it of any bug issues so I can sell in confidence, Not bring it to moisture levels just kill the bugs. I am not a rich man so my solutions are going to be salvage based, solar kilns look cool but that’s a lot of stuff I can’t afford. I have an idea to setup an electric oven in the yard, remove the front door and replace it with a insulated panel and plywood rectangle chute that is the rough diameter 3x3 or 4x4 and 8 foot long. 1) Is this a bad idea 2) can this idea be improved 3) is there another solution I should research submitted by /u/CmdDeadHand [link] [comments]
