Skim coat of mud?
Taking the family home back towards it's former glory, and uncovered this situation. These drywall-esque fiber panels, but they're covered in glue residue from the wood panels that are being removed.. The wall is going to be the surface for the main tv/projector, so it needs to be smooth, but could I get away with doing a skim coat of mud with one of those 3' long trowels, or would I be better off doing fresh drywall? The latter would have to include a lot of (probably asbestos) insulation cleanup, and reinsulating. submitted by /u/FarOkra6309 [link] [comments]
