HEROIC has announced that its AWPer Alvaro ‘SunPayus’ Garcia and Coach Eetu ‘sAw’ Sahan will move to G2 Esports after the BLAST.tv Austin Major.

According to HEROIC’s post, the esports organisation had to reveal the news ahead of the Counter-Strike tournament due to conflict-of-interest rules.

HEROIC currently sits 15th in the CS2 Valve Regional Standings (VRS). The team qualified for the BLAST.tv Austin Major through the European Regional Qualifier and will compete at the main event from June 3rd-22nd.

In the announcement, HEROIC commented: “We are grateful to both and will celebrate their time in HEROIC properly later. But first, one last line dance in Austin. Yee-haw! This means that we are back in the kitchen, and we’re cooking something real spicy.”

Shortly after, the organisation jokingly posted: “Anyone know a good awper and coach?”

G2 Secures SunPayus and sAw

It is safe to say that it has been a busy couple of months for G2 Esports.

In April, the organisation lost its star AWPer Ilya ‘m0NESY’ Osipov to Team Falcons after PGL Bucharest. Since then, the Counter-Strike 2 roster has relied on Aleksander ‘hades’ Miśkiewicz, whom G2 acquired from Monte on loan.

With the hades deal running out after the Austin Major, G2 had to secure a successor for the remainder of the 2025 season.

SunPayus only joined HEROIC in January this year after being inactive on Team Falcons’ roster since September 2024. The Spanish AWPer has been competing in Counter-Strike (CS) since 2018.

Among his most notable achievements are second place at IEM Masters Cologne and the IEM Masters Dallas trophy of 2023, all under the banner of Finnish esports organisation ENCE.

Finnish CS coach sAw was also part of ENCE during this time and helped lift the organisation to new competitive heights. Starting his career as a CS:GO player in 2014, sAw transitioned to coaching in 2019 and has been with HEROIC since December 2023.

Under his leadership, HEROIC has consistently qualified for major tournaments despite the organisation’s constantly changing roster of players. The Norwegian organisation finished 7th at last year’s Perfect World Shanghai Major 2024 and 8th at the recent IEM Masters Dallas.

HEROIC under sAw has won two A-tier competitions, the CCT Season 2 Global Finals and the MESA Nomadic Masters Spring, in April and May 2025.
