Tiling over plywood
My contractor is 80% done laying my 10 x 60” porcelain tiles. He is laying them directly on a plywood sub. He poured self leveler in random places not covering the whole or even half of the floor. He’s using polymer modified mortar. I know this is bad practice and have expressed my concerns. I feel like it’s too late at this point to do anything about it now until it’s done and if something cracks. I’m just hoping someone can ease my mind as I am SO stressed about this. Has anyone had success laying tiles this way? Could it possibly be ok and doesn’t always crack? Thank you
