Following a two-year hiatus, Tricked Esport has announced its return with the creation of a new Danish Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) roster.

The esports organisation’s revival was spearheaded by Legendary Gaming Group, founded by former Danish football star Nicklas Bendter and co-invested by Peter Ankersen.

Revealed in an announcement video on Tricked’s X (formerly Twitter) account, the new CS2 lineup is led by Valdemar ‘valde’ Vangså.

The Danish athlete has competed on multiple international stages with his previous teams, including North and OG. Valde is joined by Magnus ‘Nodios‘ Olsen, Jonas ‘Queenix‘ Dideriksen, Jason ‘salazar‘ Salazar, and Jamie ‘leakz‘ Jensen.

Interestingly, Nodios was part of Tricked’s former CS roster between 2022 and 2023. The new team will be supported by Coach Allan ‘Rejin‘ Petersen. Information regarding the team’s tournament participation has not yet been shared.

Via a press release, Nicklas Bendtner shared: “Esport is no longer just a niche; it’s a global movement, and Denmark has always been at the forefront of Counter-Strike. With Tricked’s relaunch, we’re bringing together some of the best talents to write a new chapter in Danish esports history.

“I’ve been deeply involved in assembling this team, and I genuinely believe we have a lineup that can compete at the highest level. Fans should get ready – this is only the beginning.”

Who are Tricked Esport and Legendary Gaming Group?

Founded in 2012 Tricked Esport, competed in Counter-Strike, League of Legends, FIFA (EA FC), Fortnite and Hearthstone. Among its biggest achievements was winning the Northern LoL Championship in Summer 2021. However, Tricked shut down all its operations in April 2023, following the withdrawal of investment company RightBridge Ventures.

This year, Tricked returns supported by one of its former investors, businessman Lars Seier Christensen, through Legendary Gaming Group. The gaming and esports investment company also backs esports organisations Team Singularity and Fyra SimSport.

Financial details regarding the acquisition of Tricked Esport have not been released so far.

CS fans will be able to meet Tricked’s new team during the Copenhagen Gaming Week at Bella Center on Friday 14th. From 2pm to 3pm CET (1pm – 2pm GMT), Legendary Gaming Group will host a panel discussion on Center Stage, featuring Bendter, Ankerson and Valde.

Tricked is not the only organisation to make a return to Counter-Strike esports. Last month, Ghost Gaming announced its CS comeback with a women’s roster led by veteran Emmalee ‘EMUHLEET’ Garrido.
