Trying to adjust my router settings while in the cabinet

Hey all, trying to get my router table set up to get some projects going and it seems I’ve run into something a little puzzling. I went to put my new router into my existing router table, and it doesn’t function how it should. The router is a newer Skil with a display to select hardwood or softwood, but type, depth, etc and it adjusts the machine RPMs automatically. The issue being that the display is on the top of the router, so I can’t adjust it once it’s on the cabinet or see what settings it’s on. It’s currently in a Bosch or craftsman cabinet.
