Hey folks — just wrapped up a really satisfying DIY project. I gave my Late 2014 27" Retina iMac a new life as a standalone 5K monitor, and managed to preserve: ✅ The original Apple power button ✅ The built-in stereo speakers ✅ IR remote support (completely hidden!) ✅ The original Apple power cable plug ✅ And a minimal, clean finish — only a single USB-C/Thunderbolt cable exits the case
