Type of wood/butcherblock to buy for floating desk?
Hello! I am looking to install a floating desk in my dormer/nook areas of an upstairs bedroom. The space is 44 inches wide and 55 inches deep. It seems that 48 x 30 is a common size these boards come in so I would just need to trim off a little width to fit. Any recommendations where to purchase or what type of wood to avoid? I would like it to last but not wanting to spend a fortune. Also, what should I use to finish/seal the wood for durability? It seems most come unfinished.
