Uncoupling membrane over cement board?
I’m sure this question has been asked alot but I am getting conflicting answers on Google. I am redoing my entire bathroom, floor and walls will be tile. My plan is the cement board the floor over the existing subfloor because otherwise it would be a half inch lower than the hallway wood floors. My question is this, do I need to still use an uncoupling membrane over the cement board in the non wet areas to account for movement and moisture or is the cement board over the 5/8” wood subfloor sufficient? To make my question clear of confusion, I am not accounting for the shower in this post, that will have an entirely different build out. This is simply the bathroom floor outside the shower area. submitted by /u/Piperpaul22 [link] [comments]
