Unimatic and ERG Pay Tribute to Kaikado’s 150th Anniversary

Unimatic has revealed its latest release, the Modello Due Ref. U2-KKD, a refined field watch created in collaboration with historic Japanese brand Kaikado and creative agency ERG Media. Limited to just 150 pieces, the U2-KKD honors Kaikado’s 150 years of craftsmanship — best known for its handmade tea caddies that take 130 steps to create, a method unchanged since 1875.The standout feature is a circular polished 925 silver dial, crafted using the same meticulous techniques passed down through six generations of Kaikado artisans. The dial also features debossed logos from Kaikado and ERG Media, paired with matte black skeleton hands and protected by a 2.7 mm ultra double-domed sapphire crystal.Housed in a brushed stainless steel case with 300-meter water resistance, the 38mm watch runs on a Japanese NH35A automatic movement with a 41-hour power reserve and hacking seconds. It includes a worn gray leather strap with quick-release hardware and ships in Unimatic’s signature tough case.Each piece features a commemorative screw-down caseback engraved with all three collaborators’ names.
