Following an unpredictable BLAST.tv Austin Major, only 0.01% of Counter-Strike 2 players that participated in the title’s Pick ‘Em challenges received a Diamond Coin.
As a result, the Austin Major Diamond Coin has become the rarest reward from the past five Major tournaments.
According to Counter-Strike performance tracking platform Leetify, the low percentage beat the previous reward rate of 0.1% recorded during Pick ‘Ems for the 2022 Rio Major and the 2024 Copenhagen Major, the first Major of the CS2 era.
Leetify is no stranger to collaborating with BLAST, the most recent organisers of a Counter-Strike Major. This year, the platform was integrated into the BLAST Premier broadcast, showcasing the movement of players during a match.
Coins are awarded to players that complete a range of challenges that appear throughout each stage of a Major. For the Playoffs, players had 11 objectives to complete, ranging from correctly predicting the Grand Final winner to scoring five correct predictions for Stage 1 before it began.
The next Pick ‘Em challenge takes place at the Budapest Major organised by PGL, taking place from November 24th to December 14th, 2025.
What Made The Austin Major So Unpredictable?
The Austin Major featured a wealth of surprise results, making the tournament extremely difficult for fans to predict the outcome of.
A shock exit from Team Falcons in Stage 2 of the tournament shocked many, as the Saudi Arabian organisation was considered one of the contenders capable of defeating Team Vitality on the big stage.
MOUZ‘s slow start to Stage 3 impacted many Pick ‘Ems, with many fans placing the second-best team in the world to advance with a flawless record.
Elsewhere, the arrival of Legacy on the international stage caught the attention of the community. A win over Team Vitality in Stage 3 saw the Brazilian side narrowly miss out on a Playoff appearance — a surprise for a team that wasn’t meant to be there.
