Blacklyte unveils special edition chairs for BLAST.tv Austin Major

BLAST has announced that special edition Blacklyte chairs by will be featured at the upcoming Counter-Strike 2 BLAST.tv Austin Major.

The Athena Pro chair will be decorated with BLAST.tv Austin Major branding, such as the inclusion of ‘Ace’, the event’s mascot. These chairs will be used during the Champions stage, where the top eight teams compete to become the Major Champions.

This is BLAST’s latest collaborative effort with Blacklyte, which already serves as the esports tournament operator’s global chair partner. In addition to Counter-Strike 2 events, Blacklyte’s chairs are featured in events such as FNCS (Fortnite), SLAM (Dota 2), Rainbow Six, and more.

Alexander Lewin, SVP of Commercial Revenue for BLAST, said: “Blacklyte has been elevating BLAST’s competitor experiences for over a year now, and it’s great to see this partnership develop further. Blacklyte created bespoke chairs for Boston’s Six Invitational, and now we see them enhancing the Austin Major to a new level.”

Blacklyte will not only be integrated into the BLAST.tv broadcast, but it’s range of physical products will also be showcased throughout the Austin Major. Alongside the chair, this also includes Blacklyte’s Atlas Gaming Desk.

The BLAST.tv Austin Major sees the top 32 Counter-Strike teams globally compete for three weeks, fighting for the lion’s share of a $1.25m (~£976,000) prize pool. Stage 1 commences on June 3rd, and will run up until the Playoffs, which ends on June 22nd.

It is not the only partnership Blacklyte has been working on this year. Back in April, Blacklyte secured a partnership deal with international esports organisation Team Spirit, becoming its official desk and chair partner.
