What would cause this pan to bubble and rust like this? And how would you suggest i replace it?
I have this small landing in the corner of my building that's sloped back towards the house. There's a pan here that's completely rusted through to the point where the wood framing underneath it is completely rotted out and disintegrating. When it rains, water pools up here and has been slowly eating away at the ceiling beneath (and probably the floor joists as well. Would anyone have any suggestions on how i can fix this? My initial thought was that i could just grab some concrete and pour a 'slab' on top of this to make sure it's sloped outwards properly. Then as long as I have a thick enough layer, it could probably stand getting a little bit wet as longas it sheds most of the water. Is there any reason why this would be a bad idea? Open to any help/suggestions! submitted by /u/phunkystuff [link] [comments]
