What's the best diy for an apartment bathtub that's chipping?
I recently moved into a nice new place with a few upgrades. I'm feeling very at home, but I'm having an issue with the tub. A tiny chip occurred the first time I cleaned it. No big deal. I just always made sure to use the softest cloth and non abrasive soap to clean after that. Well I'm here because that made no difference. Honestly I'm pretty sure that's what I used the first time I cleaned it anyway. More chips everyday. Underneath revealing a bone white whereas what's chipping is a little brighter. So what can I do? I thought it was iron, but it's not magnetic. I wouldn't know about this stuff but it didn't seem to be fiberglass or acrylic either. I'd guess porcelain but based on the sound test I saw online, probably not that either. I thought maintenance probably painted the tub with something of a lower quality. Can I diy this with no experience or shouldn't even try it? I'm wondering if there's a highly recommended durable finish I can apply or even just purchase for management/maintenance to use. I'm handy and enjoy a diy project, but need someone to tell me if I'd be in over me head here. submitted by /u/So_True467 [link] [comments]
