Where to find Blightwood in RuneScape: Dragonwilds

Blightwood is a lot more difficult to obtain than standard Ash Logs, as it's hidden deep within a poisonous lair filled with threats. Even worse, it only spawns in one specific spot. If you're ready to brave the poison, here's how to find Blightwood in RuneScape: Dragonwilds. I spent a good amount of time figuring out the best way to reach this area, and the most helpful tip I discovered is to place a Lodestone right near the entrance to the swamp. It'll keep you inside the Fractured Plains, which won't be as harmful as the Bloodblight Swamp. The Blightwood Roots will spawn by this entryway (marked with the circle): Screenshot by Destructoid Getting there still isn't easy, as both areas are set to Level 3 difficulties. However, once you've set that fast travel point, it's completely worth it. If you die, you can simply respawn at the Lodestone and easily recover your gear from the tomb without having to make the trek all over again. After you've set the fast travel point, your next goal should be to craft a more powerful axe, aka the Bronze Axe. A standard Stone Axe just won't cut it, so you'll need to farm some Bronze Bars, Ash Logs, and Coarse Thread to craft this recipe. Screenshot by Destructoid Now comes the next challenging part: surviving the Bloodblight Swamps' poisonous air. You have two main options: either place a Lodestone close to the Blightwood Roots or use an Anti-Poison Potion. Placing the Lodestone is a bit riskier, but it saves time since brewing the potion requires extra builds and materials. With the Lodestone method, you can quickly gather the wood and teleport out before your health drains completely. If that technique feels too dangerous, you can brew the Anti-Poison Potion using Bittercap Mushrooms, Clay Vessels, and Harralanders. This potion lets you roam the Bloodblight Swamp safely for 300 seconds without taking damage. Just consume it before entering the swamp, then head straight to the tree spawn point. Whichever method you choose, you must always watch out for enemies. A few goblins will set up shop right near the swamp's entrance, so you may need to eliminate them before heading inside the poisonous domain. Additionally, several rats roam around the Blightwood Roots, increasing the challenge even more. It felt a bit cowardly, but I just ran from the enemies and waited near the trees until the coast was clear. How to use Blightwood in RuneScape: Dragonwilds So far, the only real use I've found for RuneScape: Dragonwilds' Blightwood is unlocking the Iron Pickaxe recipe. Unfortunately, getting the ore for it is another ordeal entirely. You'll need to venture into the Stormtouched Highlands, a high-difficulty area located to the left of the Fractured Plains. Screenshot by Destructoid Since the Stormtouched Highlands is relatively challenging, I suggest grinding for a while until you've upgraded your weapons with bronze and enhanced your gear with higher defense. You may also want to place a Lodestone there, just in case things go south. Besides the iron for the pickaxe, the Blightwood may include other recipes that I have yet to discover. I'll update this guide once I dive more into RuneScape: Dragonwilds. The post Where to find Blightwood in RuneScape: Dragonwilds appeared first on Destructoid.
